Modi speaks to Netherlands PM, discusses bilateral ties and West Asia situation

NEW DELHI, Mar 30: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a telephonic conversation with Netherlands Prime Minister Rob Jetten on Monday, focusing on strengthening bilateral relations and addressing the evolving situation in West Asia.
During the call, the two leaders reviewed the growing partnership between India and the Netherlands and explored ways to expand cooperation in key sectors such as semiconductors, green hydrogen, water management, and skilled workforce mobility.
Both sides emphasized the importance of innovation-driven collaboration to address global challenges, including climate change and technological advancement.
Prime Minister Modi highlighted India’s commitment to enhancing ties with European partners and underscored the potential for joint initiatives in sustainable development and high-tech industries.
The Netherlands, known for its expertise in water management and advanced technology, remains a crucial partner in these areas.
According to a statement from the Dutch Prime Minister’s office, Rob Jetten welcomed the steady progress in bilateral ties and expressed interest in deepening cooperation with India in technology, climate action, and water expertise. He also reaffirmed the Netherlands’ support for collaborative efforts to address global challenges.
A significant part of the discussion focused on the ongoing tensions in West Asia. Modi reiterated the need for an early restoration of peace and stability in the region, stressing the importance of dialogue and diplomacy. Jetten echoed similar concerns and emphasized the importance of international cooperation to ensure regional stability.
The conversation marks an important step in further strengthening India–Netherlands relations under the new Dutch leadership. It also reflects India’s continued diplomatic engagement with global leaders on pressing international issues.
