Bogey Buddies Emerge as Fast Growing Amateur Golf Movement in Delhi NCR

By Deepak Arora

NEW DELHI, April 16: What began as a small circle of friends sharing a passion for golf has evolved into one of the capital’s most dynamic amateur golf communities. Bogey Buddies is rapidly gaining recognition as a modern golfing fraternity that blends sport, friendship, wellness, and luxury experiences with an inclusive club culture.

The recently concluded Bogey Buddies Playoff 2 highlighted the scale of this transformation. Drawing over 100 registrations and culminating in a competitive field of 64 players, the event combined high-quality amateur competition with a strong sense of camaraderie. Participants described an atmosphere where competition and connection went hand in hand, with each round fostering both skill development and personal bonds.

The group’s journey began to take shape during its first playoff in May 2025, which turned a casual gathering into a structured and recurring sporting event. That inaugural tournament laid the foundation for a culture centered on improving handicaps, sharing experiences, and building a close-knit golfing community. By its second edition, Bogey Buddies had grown into a full-fledged fraternity rather than just a tournament platform.

A key milestone in its rise was the group’s debut in the DLF Golf League (DGL), marking its entry into organized team competition. Returning this season with stronger coordination and confidence, the fraternity has used such platforms to sharpen performance while reinforcing its collective identity.

At the core of Bogey Buddies are its founders—Rajeev Arora, Dhruv Chawla, Ashish Saraf, and Deepak Sethia—whose shared passion for golf continues to shape the group’s direction. For them, each event is designed not only as a competitive outing but also as an opportunity for learning, peer engagement, and personal growth.

Their philosophy reflects a contemporary approach to the sport: golf as both competition and a social connector. This vision is evident in the attention to detail at events, including customized player jerseys, curated sponsor activations, professional photography, and luxury collaborations.

The fraternity’s growth has also attracted notable brand partnerships, with companies such as Spinny, Superupee, Hyatt, UpUrFit, and Indulge coming on board. These collaborations have helped elevate tournaments into premium lifestyle experiences, blending sport with elements of hospitality, wellness, and travel.

Beyond competition and luxury, inclusivity remains central to Bogey Buddies’ identity. The group actively encourages participation from women, children, and senior citizens, creating an intergenerational community that extends beyond traditional golf circles. Mentorship between experienced players and newcomers, as well as family participation, has contributed to a welcoming and diverse environment.

As modern luxury increasingly revolves around shared experiences and community, Bogey Buddies is redefining amateur golf in the capital. By combining competitive spirit with inclusivity and lifestyle elements, the fraternity is positioning itself as more than a sporting group — emerging instead as a thriving social and cultural movement on the fairways.
